Planting Crocus Bulbs in the Park

The weather the last couple of days has been horrendous, gale force winds and heavy rain!

Wednesday is gardening in the park and the wind had dropped slightly and there was no rain so donned my wellies and waterproofs and headed for the park.....

.....2500 crocus bulbs!!

We were planting them inside the bowling area to provide a colourful spring carpet...

.....Sue can't kneel and I can't dig so I am on my knees planting while Sue is lifting the turf.....

....we were joined by a group of children from the local nursery, Enid explaining the planting....

....we lifted the turf for the children to plant the bulbs...

....they were so enthusiastic...

....jumping on the turf to flatten it after planting!!

Then rain stopped play and all the children climbed into their buses!!

Off they go for their lunch cosy and dry!!

Worked on my secret project while listening to an audio book then tried this mixed media card...

....after machine stitching....

.....hand embroidery and beads to complete!

I decided to put birds instead of the sun, did you notice???
