Cards and Yarnbombing!!

20th February 2019

Been a bit under the weather the last week with a cough and cold that seems to be going around so haven't had much energy!!

Experimented with sandwiching a very open hessian between tissue paper using Gesso....

...haven't used them yet but like the texturing for a mixed media piece or background.

One of the projects my craft group has done is preparing to yarn bomb a tree in the community....

....owl made by Sue...

....some of the group with our tree...

....it was a good project and apparently people have been stopping at the gate and taking photographs and the children have loved it, good to make people smile!!

>>>>>>>>

Made some fabric cards for my craft stall in April using hand dyed fabrics from my stash and free machining.

>>>>>>>>

Also made a wall hanging using one of my indigo dyed tea towels and old hand made lace....

.....and a wall hanging for my bathroom window....

...difficult to take a photo against the light, the fabric is a stiffened scrim and I have used recycled sari silk strips and shells to embellish, rather pleased with the result!

Visitors this weekend then off to Cornwall on 1st March for a course, hope this cough/cold disappears by then!!!
