A Little Experiment...

30th September 2016

I finished my tidying and sorting today.....

....from this...

...to this...

....all sorted...

....so pleased with my tidy space!!

>>>>>>>>

Picked these flowers and leaves this morning from my tubs...

....black chiffon scarf and bondaweb....

....ironed between baking paper....

....placed petals/leaves on the sticky bondaweb...

.....result after these are sealed between the chiffon, placed on a black background...

....stuck in my loft window, very cheerful in the winter!!

I was given this idea on my Cornwall course, I think I will use the remaining scarf to seal autumn leaves and dried flowers.

Sorting and Tidying!!!

28th September 2016

Does anyone else put things in a safe place???

I do, then of course can't remember where!!!

I have a gift bag of cards, collected at textile fairs from my favourite artists, and can't find it anywhere.

I have been clearing cupboards and also spent 4 hours this afternoon sorting and tidying my loft space work room, still haven't finished and not found the bag!!!!

I wanted to see what toys I had kept in the hope of having a grandchild but they were in a very awkward place in a cupboard under the eaves, a breeding ground for spiders so I asked RD to look for me.....
....all I can see are his legs but he did find lots of toys....

.....next I took before and after photos as I thought I would get all my space orderly this afternoon......

......my desk/work area I am ashamed to say....

.....so pleased to see my desk again!

A lot of this belongs to my son and yarn bombing....

....I can see the floor!!

Work in progress has been placed in a box....

.....this area hasn't look so good since I moved in...

....just this fabric to sort!!!

I have 4 bags for the charity shop and 2 bags for the park tombola....

... a very satisfying day!

Hope to be creative at the weekend.......

A Brilliant Week....

26th September 2016

My two gorgeous girls travelled back to Blackpool with me, we had brilliant weather and it was so good having Alba here.....

....first 'paddle'...

....chewing on grandma's thumb!

Alba is such a delight, so interactive, lots of laughs and such a joy to be around. I know, I sound like a very proud grandma!!!

>>>>>>>>

Saturday afternoon I went to our yarn bombing group, the time flew, lots of chat and laughs and we had 2 very young yarn bombers making pompoms...

....we meet in a local coffee shop and have delicious coffee, hot chocolate and cakes.

>>>>>>>>>

On Sunday we went on a coach trip with the 'Friends of the Park' to Holmfirth, the village featured in Last of the Summer Wine, Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax, an old mill just outside the village has been converted into a film studio.

There was a Food and Drink Festival which we thoroughly enjoyed, we bought wonderful cheeses, breads and biscuits....

....listened to live music...

.....walked around the village and generally had a very enjoyable day....

....this Heron was standing so still thought it was a model, then it moved its head...

...this made me smile...

...a very old roof...

....a child's throne....

...this made us smile!

Dry stone walls fascinate me...

...views from the top of the village...

....free circus skills for all in the park...

.....beautiful stream running through the village....

...duck's bath-time!

Hoping to do some 'arty stuff' this week.....
