Quick Update....

Another beautiful day here in Blackpool.....

....no wind today, just a gentle breeze.....

.....a calm sea....

.....light, fluffy clouds.....

.....I do love living near the sea!

Youngest son requested home made sausage rolls, daughter's recipe using pork mince, onion, herbs, chopped apricots and apple, they disappear very quickly!

Baked my Christmas cake, wonderful aroma when I came back from my walk.

I am not usually this organised but I am away at the end of October on my Vietnam Textile Tour!

This was an experiment, tried making a felt bowl, that did not work out!!

I decided to add a 'silk hanky'.....

.....silk waste....

....and chiffon...

.....just used the chiffon on the right side, used my embellisher...

.....then heat gun, this has given a good texture but difficult to photograph!

Not quite sure what to do with this!!

I have prepared my napkin, ready for embroidery, for the EG Alzheimer's Project.

Must now feed my cake with brandy before I store.....

My Sling Bag....

I finished my bag.....

....nobody to take a photo of me wearing it....

....a large handmade ceramic button bought at Yarndale....

.....I wanted a simple fastening that allowed for shopping!!

I found some of my indigo dyed thread, plaited 6 strands, hand couched and it worked!!

My fruit is soaking in brandy ready to make my Christmas cake tomorrow.

Made wrapping paper from recycled tissue, scrunched it, painted with metallic silver, printed with turquoise/silver acrylic and like the effect!

I mentioned the work of the artists at Yarndale were inspiring....

.....I made this piece of felt using fleece, silk and angelina fibres ages ago with my embellisher....

......today added silk fabric/fibres (bottom left corner)...

....cut into strips...

....woven strips tacked to hold in place...

.....stitched using metallic thread and wavy programmed stitch....

.....close up....

....all ready for some hand stitching and maybe beads??

A Day in Skipton at Yarndale.....

A beautiful day today, had a picnic lunch in the sunshine at Yarndale....

......so inspirational, the hand dyed yarns and wonderful creations from textile artists.....

...crochet bunting...

.....flowers knitted and crocheted from around the world to raise funds for Alzheimers....

....alpacas and their keeper.....

....walking back to the car....

....had to collect these to press....

....I bought wool to make more socks, a ceramic button for my sling bag and could have bought lots more really beautiful items....

....a brilliant day out!

A Walk by the River.....

Another lovely day here, cool breeze but sunny.......

.....went to Garstang for a river walk....

...banks of a beautiful weed, 'poor man's orchid'....

....these seed heads were a fabulous colour, unfortunately Jack now has some attached to his fluffy tail!!!

So many berries...

....and seed heads...

....a wild flower area that was swarming with bees....

.....autumn colours and a beautiful cloudy sky....

....lots of ducks, many squabbling!

The beds in the car park...

.....most of the shops also had beautiful displays of tubs.

Very wet this morning then the sun came out....

...went for a walk in Stanley Park.....

..... this is new to me as part of the Blackpool Sports Complex, it looked so much fun....

.....love the shape and colour.

Arrived home and decided to play with my new wooden stamps.....

.....so long since I have done this and and thoroughly enjoyed my 2 hours playing!
