Riverside Walk from Richmond to Teddington Lock

24th September 2017

Beautiful day here today so decided to go for a walk along the river path towards Ham....

...decided not to take the path through the field, too many cows!

...great walk beside the river...

...very busy with walkers, joggers and cyclists...

....there was a British Canoe Club event with canoeists from all over the country competing, ages ranged from teens to seniors, very impressive....

....kept on walking until I arrived at Teddington Lock...

....just a shame there were no boats going through!

Did 15987 steps today, unfortunately my fitbit isn't working properly so when I stop moving the score goes back to zero!!

>>>>>>>>>

Today used the last of my sock yarn to finish circles .....

....when I buy some more yarn, hopefully at Ally Pally Knitting and Stitching Show next month, I will make these circles into squares for a multicoloured throw!

Sculptures at Kew.....Part 1

24th September 2017

Yesterday I visited Kew with my daughter and granddaughter......

....the colours on this tree were stunning.....

Alba just loved playing hide and seek in the trees...

...after an alfresco lunch we admired the exhibits spaced around the park....

.....must take another photo of the seed head as the buds were purple glass, just beautiful..

...loved this one...

....but this is definitely my favourite!

Absolutely STUNNING...

....from a distance it looked as though the sculpture was in the hedge....

....I must visit again this week as we didn't manage to see everything, also need to take more photos of the autumn trees which are soooo beautiful.

Watch this space....

A New Experience...

12th September 2017

This morning my sister and I went to the BBC centre to be in the audience for live Woman's Hour hosted by Jane Garvey. Interesting guests and topic.

This afternoon I watched 'No More Boys and Girls. Can our kids go gender free?' on BBC I Player. Such a very interesting programme and well worth watching if you have/work with young children. The results from the trial showed a huge improvement in the way the class of 7 year olds thought and behaved.

Last Saturday I helped at a Street Fun Day by working in the charity shop/tombola while there was live entertainment just outside the shop, the Elvis impersonator was excellent and brought back many memories!

Spent 3 days with my granddaughter walking and playing in the park, always such a pleasure....

....sun between the showers.

While watching I player I have been making long crochet strips for a yarn bomb I have in mind!

Watch this space....

....forgot to mention I now have an I-phone, not able to do much on it yet but really enjoying 'Whats App'. Learning to use a computerised till in the charity shop and my new phone has taken me way out of my comfort zone which can only be GOOD!!

Hoping to have a crafty weekend with some friends soon.....

Quick Catch Up....

3rd September 2017

I have had a very busy couple of weeks with not much time for crafting!

Have spent a lot of time in the sunshine with my gorgeous granddaughter, she loves to watch the children playing in the park....

.....so many wild flower areas in all the parks I have visited, attracting many bees ...

....autumn colours are appearing....

....so many berries....

...delicate shades, wonderful shapes..

....also been gardening and I have had my first morning as a volunteer in a charity shop!

Started to crochet poppies for a planned event, some will have a button in the middle but I rather like the variety of shapes and sizes.

All for now....
