Two Surprise Parcels!!

22nd November 2014

My day started with an early trip to the supermarket for food, arrived home to find RD cleaning the fish tank......

....this is our enormous 25 year old  goldfish in the washing up bowl while his tank is being cleaned!!

This fish leapt out of the tank many years ago and my husband gave it the 'kiss of life' using a straw!

:::::

Went up to my creative space and finished the sleeve of my daughter's aran cardigan...

....while listening to a very scary psychological thriller, I knitted faster when it became really scary!!

::::::

Then made a Christmas themed postcard ready for a swap with somebody in my Be Creative group....

....think it needs something else added before I swap, stitched mixed media using papers, felt, machine stitching and beads.

:::::

The postman arrived with a surprise parcel from a FB friend in my creative online group...

...these knitted chicks are gorgeous, they arrived in an egg box and I squealed with delight when I opened the box, must find a special place in the park for these beauties!

::::::

Also covered some metal rings, recycled lamp shades, ready for decoration for the yarn bombing...

....will post a photo when I have decorated.

::::

There was a knock at the door and this was delivered....

....my ceramic poppy from the Tower of London installation, I wasn't expecting it until 2015!

Haven't assembled it yet or decided where to put it but I love it!

:::::

Still listening to my audio book I stitched more flowers on the net....

....it is taking much longer than I anticipated but it will be worth it, I hope!!!

Where did this week go?????

21st November 2014

I cannot believe it is Friday!

I have had a very busy week with meetings, knitting, crochet, organising park project, walking the dog, shopping for food and Christmas presents.....

I must make a LIST so that I can see what I have to do and feel satisfied when I delete items achieved!

On Wednesday we went to the cinema, Orange 2for1, to see 'The Imitation Game', Benedict Cumberbatch  was brilliant as Turing, a very moving film and well worth seeing in my humble opinion!

Yesterday, after Pilates, went to set up a Christmas tree in the Winter Gardens with the park group....

....can you spot our yarn covered cones, dream catchers and glittered cones??

 Various groups had been invited to set up trees and the display will be open to the public this weekend.

I think my favourite was a driftwood tree but I didn't think to take a photo!!

Next a quick trip to Lytham to deliver some of my cards and while waiting for RD took some photos....

...in the Square they have a wonderful pebble mosaic...

...dashed home, made dinner, then off to a Christmas Fair to raise funds for the local hospice...

..... treated myself to a glass coaster from Colette Halstead...

...her work is amazing....

...I chose the hare gazing at the moon, beautiful work from a local artist...
