A Trip to Harrogate

14th October 2014

This greeted me as I went to write this blog....

Pageview chart 20094 pageviews - 309 posts        WooHoo!!

Thank you for reading my blog, these numbers have made my day!

RD needed to go to York to collect a carrier for one of the bikes he is renovating and suggested I accompany him. Such a dreary day, but the scenery and autumn colours were so beautiful. The fields, enclosed by dry stone walls, were full of sheep and cows with undulating hills as a backdrop. We couldn't travel fast as it was the A59 and we followed many tractors and lorries with nowhere to overtake but as the road was windy I didn't mind!!

We decided to stop in Harrogate on the way back....

....many buildings were still decorated with bikes for the 'Tour de France'....

....we walked past a huge park area and the trees were so beautiful....

.....would love to live in a house like this...

....beautiful flower beds...

.....the Cenotaph...

..St Peter's Church built in 1836 and has been modernised to make an active community church.

A good selection of shops and some interesting architecture, well worth another visit.

Arrived home and found this....

...love these dropping through the letter box!
