A Cover for my Journal

Remember this.....

...my first attempt using my new embellisher....

.....wasn't very happy with it so I added some dyed silk 'hankies' and 2 strips of my own silk paper made using diluted pva...

.....lesson learnt, I broke a needle trying to felt the silk strips...

....removed them and added another 'hankie'....

.....and lightly felted so I had texture....

....cut out circles...

...and hand stitched round them...

.....used wadding and free machining, lined and completed the removable cover for my journal.

Updated my journal page....

...on 1st January I joined an on line group to try and read 52 books in 2014. I enjoy reading and my favourite genre is crime and  thrillers. However, since joining the group, I have read a few books that I would not have chosen and really enjoyed them!!

I had a parcel of yarn today and am going to start another blanket tonight....
