Hand Stitching and Free Machining

9th January 2015

The weather here in Blackpool has been extremely wet and windy the past couple of days!

The yarn bombing has suffered from vandals and the weather, pompom bunting blown down, now wrapped around a tree, the roundabout strips have been pulled off but rescued for another time!

I have a number of fabric pieces that need finishing, mentioned on an earlier post, so the last couple of days I have completed one with Kantha stitch a lovely hand dyed thread....

.....this was a piece using my own hand dyed fabrics and made using prompts from my Be Creative group.....

....I marked rectangles using a  water soluble marker....

.....really enjoyed this simple stitching while listening to an audio book....

.....think I might use it for the cover of a hand made book.

I have a 'box of bits' hand dyed fabrics and decided to make this exotic bird on hessian....

....used free machining, made a card!
