Poppies, St Katherine's Dock and the V&A......

2nd September 2014

Yesterday was brilliant despite the rain!

Went by tube from Richmond to Tower Hill....

...this was just outside the tube station....

....walked to see the  Poppy Installation at The Tower of London.....

.....STUNNING!

The Shard in the background shrouded in low cloud....

....I took these photos as I walked round....

...so moving to know every poppy represents a life...

...so glad I bought one of these poppies.

Next St Katherine's Dock....

...so many boats old and new...

....luxury flats....

......loved this very old building

..the Rowbarge was beautiful in red and gold, sorry the photo doesn't do it justice!

This art work, enamelled panels, on one wall in the dock area was brilliant, gave me lots of ideas for decorating pages in my journal....

...loved this one.

Back on the tube to South Kensington and the V&A....

.....delicious lunch in this amazing room.
The V&A was the first museum to have restaurant facilities and the decoration reflected the art of that era, well worth a visit!

Back to the museum and the Wedding Dress Exhibition...

...no photos allowed and there were no postcards to buy.
The dresses were from 1700-2014 and the embroidery on the dresses and hand made lace veils were so beautiful.

Another brilliant day, never mind the weather!

Tonight we are meeting up with Cate and Adriano to see 'To Kill A Mocking Bird' at the open air theatre in Regent's Park, a birthday gift from them, and another new experience for me!!

Quite excited......
