Cooking and French Knots!

3rd April 2015

My day started with a visit from a friend which was great, then another knock on the door, sending Jack into a barking frenzy, it was a man from the florist delivering.....

.....a BEAUTIFUL Easter bouquet  complete with three chocolate eggs!

A lovely surprise from my son, made my day.

:::::

Made a fish pie, a real comfort meal for me....

.....and a couple for the freezer....

....while I was waiting for the potatoes to cook I made cranberry flapjacks, simply because I needed to use up some dried cranberries.....

.....rather good, if I say so myself! I make all sorts of flapjacks, fig/ginger being my favourite!

This is a good recipe and has never failed me....

200g of butter/Flora,
200g Demerera sugar
200g honey or syrup
400g oats
plus anything you fancy, e.g. raisins, apricots, figs etc

Melt fat, sugar and syrup in a pan and when melted add the rest of the ingredients, cook in a tray for 15/20 mins at 180 delicious and simple!!

::::::

Up to my loft space and decided to finish ......

....I used my tree wooden block to print on silk and stitched glass beads, about 6 months ago!!

I am going to make a set of 4 framed trees, one for each season, this is Spring Blossom....

...found some pink threads....

....and happily stitched french knots while listening to an audio book....

...quite pleased with the effect....
