Weaving and Putting Samples in my Journal

3rd August 2014

Greetings from a very windy, showery Blackpool!

I was up early this morning and decided to weave some samples for my journal.....

....hessian and silky viscose ribbons....

.....indigo dyed cotton yarn...

......a selection of strips from my dyed fabrics.....

....finished sample, I love the texture!

Next I stitched some of my drawn thread samples....

....stitched onto hand made denim paper using programmed stitches...

....silk scrim stitched onto dyed cotton.

I had accumulated lots of bits from the weaving and embellished them onto blue felt.

Finally I made up my journal pages....

....hand outs, templates and stencils stored in cello bags....

....I added some hand stitching to the drawn thread samples....

.....samples of fabric to show the many patterns.

Must pickle my huge pot of beetroot now!!!

Free machining on my samples tomorrow.....
