A Day at the London Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour

2nd October 2018

Had a great day out with my sister at the LDC.......

...the entrance...

....Marc Fish described the processes involved in the making of his furniture, fascinating, he uses veneer and resin to create his beautiful pieces...

....this was a desk, so beautiful, I am afraid my photo really doesn't do it justice!!

This was a cupboard and the white circles were spaces where you put your finger in to open the doors...

.....wonderful floral arrangements throughout...

...another feature in one of the domes...

....loved this table...

....we were then taken on a short tour and this was where all the handmade braids and tassels were found, didn't dare ask how much a metre!!!

.....also visited  this lighting area, I particularly liked the wall lights...

...the glass was hand blown inside the leaf sphere....

....think this was my favourite, a metal leaf shape, again difficult to photograph...

....finally we looked at fabrics, I took lots of photos of the embroidered samples for ideas, these were £155 a metre!!!

...the white leaves were appliquéd on the fabric with small embroidered flowers...

....Chelsea Harbour on the way home, old and new buildings side by side...

...London landmarks in the far distance with different styles of bridges over the Thames, an amazing view!

Off to Handmade at Kew tomorrow evening, just hope I am able to take photos.
