A Busy Day, ArcheologicalSite, Silkworm Farm, Ta Lai Village, Suoi Waterfall Park

Left the lodge at 8am, unfortunately I wasn't very well but didn't want to miss the day.....

...our bus was stopped for speeding and the driver was fined!!

These monks were walking along the road barefoot and raised their hands to request a lift....

...they left us when we reached the archeological site and were given gifts of food...

....105 uneven steps to climb up to the site....

....view down to the river....

....the entrance, many gold artifacts, now in a museum, were recovered from an excavated well....

.....more amazing plants/flowers in the grounds....

.....cashew nut trees bring a good income, 400% profit!

>>>>>>>>

20 day old silk worms on a bed of mulberry leaves....

....this mound was about 10ft x 4ft...

....the worms are put in the holes in these pallets to make the cocoon...

....items used to make the cone hats...

.....mulberry plants to supply the silkworms, they are fed fresh leaves every day, this is an organic farm...

.....cocoons drying on huge baskets, ready to be sold.

>>>>>>>>

The weaving house in Ta Lai Ethnic village....
....sitting on the wooden floor, legs outstretched, feet holding the loom in place, I certainly couldn't sit in this position for any length of time!!!

Using cotton thread...

....their grandson sitting beside them playing happily with bamboo sticks and thread...

....the Vietnamese people always have a smile....

.....beautiful work.

Lunch stop with a family in Ta Lai, this baby looked so comfortable in the hammock....

....a feast, but I was unable to partake, just had warm ginger tea!!

>>>>>>>

Suoi Mo park, stunning with many natural waterfalls and swimming pools...

....we sat and had drinks under this enormous fig tree listening to the running water and birds.
