Fun Experimenting!!

9th January 2018

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

I am now back in Blackpool but enjoyed a weekend with my gorgeous granddaughter after Christmas, now 18months old and sooooo busy! She loves walking, collecting stones and jumping in puddles, simple pleasures but lots of fun and she is a real TONIC, missing her already....

....I made her a jumper/tunic during my housesit.

This morning I was browsing Pinterest and saw an idea from Carolyn Saxby, one of my favourite artists.....

.....a fine bubble wrap was placed on baking parchment bubble side up...

....fabrics, threads from my stash...

....lots of snippets cut...

....covered with cling film...

....more baking parchment, then ironed to fuse everything together...

.....front....

...back...

....lots of zigzag stitching in shiny threads...

...a lovely shiny sheen on this 'made fabric', watch this space to see what I use this for!!

I have also added silks, handmade braids to this piece I started a few months ago, also have a plan for this!

So enjoyed playing and experimenting today!!
