I decided to make poppy cards as I haven't any left in my box.
Began by cutting a strip of calico and backing with wadding and 'stitch and tear' for stability while free machining.....
....I painted with Ko in Or dye....
....these colours faded when dry.
Used my variegated threads for a background...
...Lastly free machined some red poppy shapes, added fabric circles secured with a tiny black bead and finished with some small french knots. Cut the strip into 3 and overstitched the edges....
....produced 3 cards!
It is ages since I did any free machining and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Still working on my sea wall hanging, might do some free machining on that....
