10th March 2018

Not been able to blog due to problems with the internet....

....due to high tides and Storm Emma a huge amount of sea weed was washed up on the beach and it was so thick it was like walking on a giant sponge...

...tide just coming in...

....love the sound of waves....

...a house on a hill overlooking the cove...

...limpets and lichen on the rocks....

....such wonderful patterns in the rocks...

....quite a variety of seaweed...

....blue sky, a hedge and woolly, very pregnant sheep!!

Most people left yesterday but 6 of us have stayed on in the studio to try and complete our projects, these photos show work produced on the course, many are still works in progress!!

...sea shore collection...

....Hand made/designed lino cut overprinted on calico...

...cut out fabric work using the same block...

....hand made stamps printed on painted scrim background then stitched...

....stained glass windows made by layering organza, printing, stitching and cutting back with a soldering iron...

....string on card prints on organza...

....stone wall using stamps, hand dyed fabric and wool for texture...

...stone wall and woolly sheep...

...a large stone on the moors...

...a very quirky house...

...this print was made using string on card, fabric dyed with tea then overlayed with organza..

....this large block was made by cutting shapes out of funky foam and sticking these on card with overlaying of fabrics....

...this has to be one of my favourites, background created by printing, colour washing fabrics and painted bondaweb, heated organza for the grey stonework...

...off cuts of painted fabrics were layered and stitched...
