My blogger friend Julie Broad ....
https://creatingtextiles.wordpress.com
....was awarded this by Myfanwy Hart who organises our Be Creative Group...
....and Julie has very kindly nominated me!!
I am thrilled to bits!!
I now have to say 7 things about myself and nominate up to 5 people...
I am a retired primary school teacher...
......I have been blogging 2 years in May.....
....I have enjoyed a variety of volunteer 'jobs' since my retirement including, helping in school listening to children read and teaching them simple embroidery, charity shop and soup kitchen but my long lasting volunteer work has been with my local park friends group. 2015 is our centenary year and we started the year by yarn bombing the park which was great fun and very successful.
....2 years ago I enrolled on a Machine Embroidery On-line Course with Anne Griffiths. This started me on my textile journey and I love sharing ideas and experimenting. It was Anne who suggested I blogged about my work on the course and my eldest son bought me the domain
www.sewstitchknit.com
I was really worried at first but now can't imagine not writing about my experiments, whether they work or not!!!
....most of my family live in London, I love to visit them and also see many wonderful exhibitions.
....my biggest adventure was meeting up with my daughter in Peru when she was travelling,I stayed for 2 weeks, we did a 4 day Inca Trail trek, camping on the hillside, travelled hundreds of miles and it was a WONDERFUL experience!!
...I love going on courses and learning new skills. This year I am going on a day course in Mixed Media, a week residential course in Cornwall with Anne Griffiths, a brilliant tutor! A weekend at the Royal School of Needlework for Whitework and a textile tour in Vietnam!
I wish I had discovered textiles years ago, it has changed my life!!
I now nominate:-
Jacques Williamos , https://squarebird.wordpress.com
Emma Wiggington, http://emmawiggintonartist.blogspot.co.uk
...because I follow and enjoy....
....but only if you want to participate!
