Rainforest-Part 1 Forest Floor Lodge

After a 4 hour journey we  boarded the 'ferry'...

...down river...

...as we arrived at Forest Floor Lodge the rain bounced down....

...a wonderful sound and umbrellas were needed to go to our cabins/tents...

.....bananas growing beside the path to our cabin...

....woven roof...

....bathroom...

....electricity is powered by generator, 6am to 10pm, my torch came in very handy!!

I haven't been able to post because my photos wouldn't load onto my blog, these are the only ones at the moment!

                                     The bus drivers relaxing in the storage hold on the bus....

....late afternoon, thought we were in for a storm....

.....7.30 am walking along the beach watching the fishermen....

...he is waiting for the big wave....

.....me, unfortunately the red flag was flying so we were unable to swim as the currents were very strong....

A small selection of breakfast buffet, plus pancakes, eggs, noodles, rice dishes , bread, croissant and a cake selection.....

...these two ladies were selling incense sticks so we could offer prayers....

.....a cave, just had to go in....

....a small temple in the first cave, behind the statue is a very narrow entrance to the 'gateway to heaven cave, two of us ventured up....

....inside the last cave....

.....looking up, hence the name....

....these roots were amazing....

....one of many statues at the entrance to the deepest cave....

....these holes in the roof were made by bombs dropped in the war, an important Vietnamese died in this attack...

....the light makes beautiful shapes in the cave....

....can you see the face? All made by nature as this rock is a mixture of marble and limestone....

....just one of the shrines in the cave....

.....well worth the exercise, now off to the beach.....

....going to the Eco Lodge in the rainforest tomorrow for 4 days, no electricity so no more news for a few days.
